Fuck Tesco's

Right,

So I meet Sadhbh in Tesco to do a little shopping so we could eat tonight.

So we pick up some vegetables and a turkey roast, some spuds, some Milk (as we've ran out) and a loaf of bread.

Then we queue in the express basket only queue - for 32 fucking minutes......

Now there were only 5 people in the queue in front of me, so I mean, almost 7 minutes per person????? There were trolleys going faster.

So depite three of the express checkouts beside me being being closed.

Right so a little pissed off with this only to discover that I have now been charged for 2 hours in the car park because I was stuck in the fucking queue.

So I look at the display to find out how much I owe...then I look at the machine which is more expensive - only ten cents but that's not the point - it over charged, but I was too pissed off already to actually complain (I had gone past the point of complaining)

So I go to exit the car park and so stupid cow has decided not to bother paying her ticket inthe machine and instead has called security down to the exit so she can pay.

I had this thought that ranting here may let me calm down a little - I was wrong - I'm just pissed again.

Fuck!

I hate computers

I mean - what exactly is the purpose of a computer??

Is it to save time and money by having less people doing one job? YES.

Is it for recreational and educational uses? YES

Is it to have a small piece of software installed followed by the inability to switch on? NO IT'S FUCKING NOT

This Could Be Considered A Spoiler.......

Right - the plot of Star Trek - Nemisis......
Weak, but the sheer piss-taking of the Next Gen series is brilliant.
To quote Gar "ADMIRAL JANEWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Yeah - he right....
Other than that - work is work - being stoned is fun, it's nearly four in the morning - Good night all!

Oh, and your sister is dying. Come and I will bring you to her.

*blank look at blog...*I really should update more often"

The EU
I was thinking about the EU on the trip home from Bantry yesterday and how they are out to make us feel better about stuff without actually changeing it at all.....
For example.....
Kilometres...All new sign posts are in Kilometres, so distances appear to be further, but we still have the speed limit in MPH, so though we can go no faster (legally) we appear to cover a greater distance without actually doing so. For example, if you do 50 miles in a hour you think "Hey, the speed limit is 60 MPH - how come it took me an hour, I could have done it in 50 minutes", but if you do the same journey, but it's 80 Kilometres, you think "Whoa! I did 80 Klicks in an Hour - go me"

Another example is the Euro....
Since its introduction back in January it's been like you have so much extra cash. (And you don't - In fact you probably have less because Charlie McCreevy is a stealing bollox) And even though you pay more for stuff (pure number wise - not actual value, though in most cases actual value too) you fell better about it.
Let's say you go out and buy something that costs 99 euro. You buy it and you think "Hey, this rocks - and I got it for under a hundred", but if you had bought the same thing a year earlier for 78 quid, you'd be thinking "Yeah - it's cool and I need one, but it cost the best part of a hndred quid.

So, basically what I am saying is Damn you foul EU - I'm on to your game and I'm waiting for you to slip up

Woah! First post in 3.5 weeks.
Well, just back from Lanzarote on Saturday to pissing rain. It was hard to believe that 24 huors before hand I'd been wearing shorts and been at a water park.
I think I slept most of the holiday - first time in 2 years I've actually had time to relax and not give a shit - I hadn't realised how tired I was.
Holiday was fun - the Volcanoes over there are facinating. If anyone goes over there go on the volcano tour (You can only go on it by bus as they won't let cars into the really cool area) - it's absolutely fantastic. Only really bad ting about the holiday was the second dinner we had over there. We ent to this place (looked nice from the outside) and we both ordered steak (as you do). So out came what was advertised as grilled fillet steak with veg.
I have a suspicion that the food was actually grilled and the veg boiled, but soon afterwards they but everything in a basket and fucked it in a deep fat fryer. It came out and looked okay. The steak looked a little shiny, but I thought theyed fried id - nothing bad. Then I had some. It was ........... ...... ...... fascinating. Then I had some brocolli. WOAH!!!! It was vile. I bit into it and oil literally ran down my neck. Now as most of you know I'm a grease fiend, personally why grill stuff when you can fry it, but this was extreme. I chapped the tomato in half and the plate filled with oil. It was all bad.
So to finish up I decided to risk dessert. I ordered a Chocolate Mousse with Chapmange- or so I thought. I got this bowl of light light brown gunk that didn't taste very nice.
So other than that holiday was cool. Weather in Ireland sucks ass.

Well finally home from Gaelcon.
Have to say was one of the most enjoyable cons of the last few years.
Also was possibly the most relaxed committee I've ever seen. Everone worked well together - there were one or two hick ups but there always is - but overall was amazingly smooth running.
Usual stuff happened over the weekend - Went in early all weekend, went home late.
Got home about 12 last night after spending a few hours doing clear out in the hotel and then 4.5 hours driving home.
Got home to a really clean appartment (Thank you Charles), and promtly went to the loo and threw up. Went to bed and got up for work - thank god I have a piss easy week of work ahead of me (though I didn't find that out until this morning).
So overall, Thanks Col and everyone else on the committee - It was bloody good fun.
